Meet Sabjuda
North Carolina raised. Brooklyn made. Houston tested.
Born Sabrina Thompson, but creating under the name Sabjuda, this North Carolina–born filmmaker, photographer, and entrepreneur tells stories that refuse to sit quietly.
She is the founder of Sabjuda Productions (formerly KUU Productions), a boutique media company trusted by icons and institutions alike—from The Recording Academy and Google to Warner Bros., Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott and Lenny Kravitz. Before stepping fully into her artistry, she taught English in New York City classrooms and produced television news for major networks (Columbia TriStar, Sony, Court TV), sharpening her instinct for truth, timing, and the power of narrative.
In 2016, she helped document history as a cinematographer for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. In 2017, she stood at the center of another historic moment as the lead photographer of the Women’s March on Washington. She doesn’t just capture moments—she preserves movements.
Sabjuda also co-founded the Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network in Harlem, helping open doors for more than 80,000 young women. In 2012, she competed on CBS’s Emmy Award–winning Survivor, finishing runner-up—a reminder that endurance has always been part of her story.
She is the author and director of, The Ridiculous Ones, a bold, luxury coffee table book and documentary honoring elders who chose to live vividly and unapologetically.
North Carolina raised her. Brooklyn made her. Houston tested her. World travel (51 countries and counting) enlightened her. Sabjuda makes sure the stories the world overlooks are never lost.
